Moderator: “So you spoke about the dangers of contraception. Can you talk about why contraceptives are dangerous?”
Santorum: “What we are seeing is a problem in our culture with respect to children being raised by children, children being raised out of wedlock, and the economic impact and the impact on society.”
PRO TIP, BRO: BABIES HAPPEN WHEN YOU DON’T USE CONTRACEPTION, NOT WHEN YOU DO.
I will never understand people that think, just because there’s an open access to birth control, it’ll make them go out and have sex. I was on the pill when I was 15, and didn’t have sex until I was 18. But I guess logic is worthless.
Not providing birth control to stop teenage pregnancy seems counter-productive. Extremely so. Because, let’s face it, most teenagers will have sex. Providing contraception will at least lessen the amount of some of this “children being raised out of wedlock” and whatnot. Because you cannot stop teenagers from having sex or anyone from having pre-marital sex. It doesn’t work like that.
